Dollar Tree’s $5 Find Is a Dupe of a Much More Expensive Brand

One thing I love about shopping at Dollar Tree is that I never know what surprises I’ll find. On the flip side, sometimes the things I really want are nowhere to be found. That’s currently the case with a collection of stunning glass storage jars I’ve been seeing online.

With their curved edges and stylish lids, they’re exactly the kind of practical and pretty kitchen storage I’m always looking for. The black lids, in particular, look remarkably similar to Anchor Hocking’s pricier Montana jars. But Dollar Tree’s versions cost just $5 and $7 for the small and large jars, which is why I’ve been keeping an eye out for them.

Dollar Tree Lidded Glass Jar

  • Why I Love It: These affordable glass jars have the same stylish look as Anchor Hocking’s containers, but cost a fraction of the price.

Why Dollar Tree’s Gorgeous Glass Jars Caught My Eye

I have expensive taste, but I love a good look for less even more. Anchor Hocking’s black-lidded Montana jars have a clean, sophisticated style, but a single 96-ounce jar costs $28.78 at Walmart and $22 each in a two-jar set on Amazon. Even the $7 jar is roughly 70 percent cheaper and has the same roomy, rounded shoulders, with either a knobbed black metal lid or a warmer, more natural bamboo aesthetic.

Since I can’t confirm sizes yet, I can’t say whether they match Montana’s 96 ounces. But based on this video by creator @ashleynicolelife, the jars look generously sized next to her hand, and the glass looks sturdy. For the price of a fancy latte, you can bet I’ll keep hunting until I find out.

How I Plan To Use Them

I’m planning to use the large jars for everyday cooking staples like lentils, rice, and dried beans. The wide mouth is a huge selling point for me because I can easily scoop ingredients using standard measuring cups. I’ll use the smaller jars to hold Nespresso pods or homemade cookies. I have a good setup for my baking supplies, but I’m considering switching to these so I can have glass for everything.

Beyond the kitchen, they’d be great in the bathroom for things like bath salts and cotton balls, and in the laundry room for powdered detergent and dryer balls.

What I’ll Look for When I Find Them

I’m curious how much they can hold and whether their lids are airtight. The Anchor Hocking jars have gasketed lids for airtight storage, and the Dollar Tree versions appear to have sealing rings, too. Since I’ve bought similar glass jars with airtight seals from that same aisle, I’m optimistic that these will also have them.

Viral Dollar Tree stock can be hard to find, so if you see these, be sure to grab what you want right away. I know I’ll be doing the same.
