Nearly 176,000 Air Fryers Sold at Target Recalled After 40 Burn Injuries

The manufacturer of an air fryer sold at Target has announced a recall of its Gourmia air fryer ovens due to a burn hazard. Gourmia has received 57 reports of the ovens’ spring-loaded front doors closing unexpectedly as consumers retrieve hot food, resulting in 40 reported burn injuries to consumers’ hands or wrists.

If you have this air fryer at home, stop using it until the manufacturer sends you a repair kit to fix the problem. Don’t assume your air fryer is safe—check the product details below.

How To Identify a Recalled Air Fryer

The recalled Gourmia 9-Slice Digital Air Fryer Oven was sold at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from October 2021 through June 2026. Neither Target nor the manufacturer has explained the gap between the end of sales in June and the recall in November. The recalled models are stainless steel and feature two glass-front French doors with metal handles.

  • Look for the model number (GTF7530) and UPC (810002862779) on the packaging.

  • Check the label on the back of the air fryer oven for the model number and date codes (3021 to 0126). The four-digit date codes indicate manufacturing dates ranging from the 30th week of 2021 through the first week of 2026.

What To Do With a Recalled Product

Stop using any Gourmia air fryer oven with the model number and date codes listed above. Consumers must contact Gourmia to request a repair kit, which will be mailed within two to four weeks. The free kit includes a new magnetic doorstop that consumers can install themselves. Gourmia has confirmed that it will not offer refunds or replacements.

To ask the company questions, call 888-834-0092 or email [email protected]. Have the model number and date code ready. The customer service team is available Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET.
